Recapping 2025 Highlights

Okay, I feel really awful that I thought I was about to start up writing again and little did I know, it would take another 2.5 years until my next entry… Oops! Anyhow, should I do another life update? Well I suppose I can start there. The biggest news is that we purchased a home exactly a year ago! Honestly, 2025 was such a testament to saying yes to God! It was such a fruitful year full of new beginnings.

HOUSE

My mother in law was diagnosed for a second time with liver cancer last March of 2025. For some reason, I felt incredibly compelled to visit her on Monday. Which is very bizarre because I usually have work on Monday but I told Hoan we had to go. As we drove into the neighborhood I saw a house for sale. Since Hoan and I were actively searching for a home, I was curious. Hoan and I also did say that if a nice house popped up in their neighborhood we would consider it. But we were never very serious bc we ultimately wanted to stay in West Seattle.

I looked online to see if I could find the listing but unfortunately could not. However, I found what would eventually become our house on Redfin. Took Lucky on a walk to go check out, we called up Justin, our realtor to meet us and we saw it that evening at 7pm. They were reviewing offers in 2 days so we had to act fast. We reached out to the lender, put in the offer and it was accepted on Wednesday afternoon! We beat out about 6 other offers, thanks be to God. And honestly, it was the best yes I had ever done. It’s been an absolute blessing living near Hoan’s parents! Truly so fun and special. It’s really helped me to grow in my love and appreciation for family.

Celebrating Jubilee

The Catholic church celebrated Jubilee last year in 2025. Honestly, I feel mixed about this but ultimately I’m so grateful we did this. Hoan originally wanted to celebrate his 40th in Asia with his family. However, because I discovered it was Jubilee I said I wanted to go to Europe again. Like how cool would it be to visit and pay homage in this special year? Well… for some reason, in my heart I felt a calling to bring both sets of parents with us on our Europe trip. I was like eeeeeeeeeek, I knew it was going to be a good chunk of change but we made it happen. I want to give a huge shout out to Hoan for being down to make it happen. We ended up going to London, Paris, Lourdes, Rome, Milan and the Amalfi coast! It truly was a trip was a lifetime!!

ASIA

Well sure enough, I did my best to still celebrate Hoan’s 40th birthday and still encouraged him that we should go. With all of the expenses we had this last year… it made it really hard. House, furnishing the house, our prius died so we had to get a new car, biz also was sluggish for Hoan as well. SO IT WAS HARD. But I’m so grateful we made it happen! We ended up going to Vietnam, Thailand and a day in Osaka! I told Hoan that he should design and plan it the way he wanted. And I’m so glad he had a great time. It was super restorative. We even did a 3 day juice cleanse while we were in Thailand. We also stayed at one of the most epic Hilton properties ever, Conrad Koh Samui. We loved it so much that Hoan already booked rooms for the end of this year 2026!
